Hinckley and Bosworth virtual tour

Welcome to our virtual tour of the healthcare provision in Hinckley and Bosworth. Using the images below, you can follow our Chief Nurse, Caroline Trevithick, as she takes you through some of the locations where we currently deliver community health care.

Hinckley and Bosworth Community Hospital

The hospital, known locally as “Sunnyside”  is located on Ashby Road just outside of Hinckley and offers inpatient community beds for patients, as well as reablement facilities to support patients to be discharged.

Hinckley Health Centre

The Health Centre, located on Hill Street in the centre of Hinckley, hosts a wide variety of outpatient clinics which cover many separate areas of health and wellbeing. It also offers phlebotomy (bloods) diagnostics.

Hinckley and District Hospital

Hinckley and District Hospital is located on Mount Road in the centre of Hinckley and is linked to the Hinckley Health Centre by a corridor. The building offers day case surgery, x-ray and ultrasound and endoscopy services, and you can find out more about each individual area below.

Hinckley and District Hospital – Wards

The wards in Hinckley hospital are where patients are prepared for surgery or endoscopy and where they return to following their procedure.

Hinckley and District Hospital – X-Ray and Ultrasound

Hinckley and District Hospital offers x-ray and ultrasound procedures to patients. Patients can be referred directly from the outpatient clinics at the adjoining Hinckley Health Centre or from their GP.

Hinckley and District Hospital – Theatre

The theatre at Hinckley and District Hospital performs what are known as “day case” procedures, which are surgical procedures carried out under local or general anaesthetic, where the patient does not have to stay overnight. These include cataract operations, podiatry and orthopaedics.

Hinckley and District Hospital – Endoscopy

Endoscopy procedures, where clinicians use a camera to look down a patient’s throat, or in to their bowel, are offered from a specific endoscopy suite at the hospital
