Community Services Review and Better Care Together

The community services review which we undertook in Hinckley and Bosworth is part of the wider Better Care Together, a transformational plan for health and social care in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.  The programme is looking at a number of crucial areas: urgent care (including A&E); long term conditions (such as diabetes and respiratory diseases), frail older people, maternity and newborns; children’s services; learning disabilities, planned care; and mental health provision. It is also looking at other areas of improvement, for example, how many buildings are used and their location, how we attract and keep the best staff and how technology can support change.

As part of the changes to services which Better Care Together is considering, they will be consulting with the public on several different areas, including the provision of planned care in Hinckley and Bosworth, and this consultation will happen later on in 2016.

Included with the consultation will be an “information pack” containing all of the local background information, research and all the details that people will need to make an informed decision on the consultation questions. The document will be shared online once it is completed and prior to the consultation period starting, so please check back for the latest information.
