Spencer Gay is responsible for financial strategy, financial planning, financial management and financial governance of the CCG. He also leads on non-financial planning within the CCG. Spencer initially joined the NHS in 1997 immediately following graduation from The University of Liverpool with a Maths degree. Qualifying as an Accountant in 2002 with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), he then spent his career working in various finance roles within the acute sector before moving into a senior financial commissioning role with Leicestershire County and Rutland PCT in 2007. Spencer joined the CCG at its inception in 2011 and enjoys the challenge and responsibility offered by the role. His aim is to ensure that the CCG manages its resources and plans effectively in order to be able to offer the best possible healthcare services to the patients of West Leicestershire.
